Values Guide Vecellio
Group To Record Growth
(3rd Quarter 2005)
| |
 |

Leo A. Vecellio, Jr.
Vecellio Group, Inc.
President, Chairman,
and CEO |
“Family-owned and operated” is a label the
Vecellio Group has worn proudly for years, starting nearly seven
decades ago with Vecellio & Grogan, founded in 1938
by my father, grandfather and uncle.
Chief among our values are quality and integrity, which
have guided the growth of our business down through the years
well beyond the size of typical family-run
firms.
With my two sons, Christopher and Michael, now well-integrated into
daily corporate management, the Vecellio Group is benefiting from its
fourth generation of leadership, guiding us on this path of record growth.
Our family heritage will always be an important part of our
business. It has to be; our name is on the line each day. But beyond family ownership, we are a family of companies
dedicated to excellence in all that we do. That, more than anything, is the real
reason for our continued growth.
The timeless values of quality and integrity are the
foundations of our success — not only for our own family, but for our entire
family of companies and employees, as well.

Hans VanWinkle, director of the Construction Industry

Project Success” as part of the Vecellio Distinguished Lecture series at
Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
VanWinkle is director of CII, an international consortium
with headquarters in Austin, TX, that is working to improve the engineering and
construction industries worldwide.
The lecture series is sponsored by an endowment from the
Vecellio Family Foundation and individual family members in support of the
Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management Program in Virginia Tech’s Via
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Several Vecellios have graduated from Virginia Tech,
including the late Leo Vecellio, Sr. (1938), Leo Vecellio, Jr. (1968) and
Michael Vecellio (2001).
In addition to the lecture series, the Vecellio endowment
supports scholarships, fellowships and a full professorship at the school.
