Vecenergy Purchases Chevron Terminals in Alabama and Georgia
(March 2011)
Completing a purchase started last December, Vecenergy has closed on the purchase of two Chevron products terminals.
Vecenergy, the energy division of Vecellio Group, Inc., has finalized the purchase of Chevrons Macon, GA, and Montgomery, AL, terminals. Chevron will continue to use the terminals under a long-term agreement, while Vecenergy will also open up the terminals for third-party throughput. Both terminals will have ethanol blending and red-dye diesel capabilities.
These terminals are an important step in the growth of Vecenergys terminal logistics business as were looking at further expansion, said Todd Cannon, the divisions vice president.
Vecenergy, headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL, operates bulk petroleum storage and distribution terminals at two in-state locations, in addition to its Alabama and Georgia facilities. Combined, the terminals have a bulk storage capacity of more than 2 million barrels.
Vecenergy also provides offloading services for all incoming petroleum products at Port Everglades in South Florida.
