Vecellio Group Among Largest Federal Highway Contractors

As one of the nations leading heavy/highway contractors, the Vecellio Group received nearly $94 million in federal highway contracts in one year, making it the countrys 20th largest federal highway contractor, reports the November-December 2004 Transportation Builder.
West Virginia-based Vecellio & Grogan received nearly $67 million in federal contracts for the year 2003, ranking it 5th in its region, while Florida-based Ranger Construction Industries landed almost $27 million, ranking it 14th regionally.
The data was presented in the magazines annual ranking of the countrys Top 300 Federal Highway Contractors, as compiled from the previous year.
In addition to highway projects, Vecellio Group companies also perform road construction, site development, asphalt contracting, golf course construction and limestone aggregate production for its public- and private-sector customers.
Transportation Builder is published bi-monthly by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

VanGuard, the Vecellio Group’s full-color newsmagazine, won a Bronze Magellan Award in the 2004 Publicity Campaign Competition sponsored by the League of American Communications Professionals.
Published quarterly, VanGuard is distributed to industry contacts, government officials, employees, and customers of the Vecellio Group’s operating units.
Produced and edited by Vecellio Group Communications Director Carl Thiemann, the magazine has won 18 prestigious industry awards over the past five years.
The Vecellio Groups corporate brochures, also produced by Thiemann, received kudos in a separate competition. As a collective entry, the brochures were named a finalist in the 2004 Outstanding Brochure Competition sponsored by the National Asphalt Pavement Association.
