The Vecellio Group is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company whose businesses provide a wide range of heavy/highway, mining, and energy services and products to our valued public and private-sector customers throughout the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States and beyond.

The Group’s expertise extends from excavation, grading, and structures to asphalt manufacturing and paving, from high-volume aggregate production to petroleum product terminals — with an emphasis on safety and environmental awareness in all aspects of the work.

In 1938, Vecellio & Grogan (V&G) was formed by Leo Vecellio, Sr., and Gene Grogan. The company quickly became well-known for its heavy/highway contracting expertise, especially under tough, high-production conditions.

V&G grew throughout the years, expanding into the Mid-Atlantic Southeastern states. In the 1970’s, third-generation contractor Leo Vecellio, Jr. joined the family business. With his experience in the USAF, and as a Civil Engineer, V&G began branching out into more diverse economic and geographic regions.  Opportunities arose in Florida, and several new operations were established, continuing the Group’s substantial growth over the next several decades.

Today, VGI is a conglomerate of businesses that operate autonomously in the road and marine construction industries.  Overall core competencies include road, bridge and retaining wall construction; drainage; commercial, industrial, and residential site development; asphalt contracting and paving; limestone aggregate production; and environmental reclamation.

Leo Vecellio, Jr., and his wife Kathryn (Center), along with sons Michael (L) and Christopher (R) are the owners of Vecellio Group, Inc. and provide overall management and direction of its separate companies.
