Ranger Golf built the course that finally
tamed Tiger Woods.

The world’s #1 golfer for five straight years finally lost that title to Vijay Singh at the Tournament Players Club (TPC) of Boston over the Labor Day weekend.
The Ranger-built course was home to the second
annual Deutsche Bank Championship, a nationally televised PGA Tour event with a $900,000 winner’s purse.

The tournament drew many of golf’s leading names, but it was Singh and Woods at the center of the media frenzy. And they did not disappoint.

Singh outplayed Woods down the stretch, finishing first in the tournament and pushing ahead in professional golf’s point system, knocking Woods out of the top spot and taking his place as the world’s #1-ranked golfer.
Tiger, fittingly, came in second, tied with last year’s event winner, Adam Scott.

Although it was Singh who outscored Woods and nabbed the tournament and top ranking, golfers say they don’t play against each other, but against the course and themselves. If that’s the case, then score one for the TPC of Boston.

“We’re very proud of our work on the course,” said Ranger Golf Vice President Jade Work. “The two best golfers in the world were battling it out with the #1 ranking at stake. That was a big moment in golf and the course received a lot of great exposure.”

Located in Norton, MA, the TPC of Boston was designed by Palmer Course Design and built by Ranger Golf to the exacting standards of the PGA Tour. It was selected to host an officially sanctioned Tour event only two years after its 2001 completion.

The course has received great feedback for carefully blending with its environmentally sensitive surroundings.
